A letter to my ego...

What if every reason you have about why you can’t have, start or grow a successful business is an untruth?

What if every reason you have about why you can’t create a life YOU want in YOUR own way is an untruth?

What if you decide it is an ego construct.

It’s limited.

It’s based in fear.

That it comes from the part of you that is scared.

The part of you that wants to protect and to keep you small.

It comes from your ego.

It comes from fear.

Here is a letter that I previously wrote to my ego. I hope it helps unlock something in you.

Dear Ego,

I know you have a million and one reasons why you think that I can’t do what I want to.

Why I can’t create a business and life that truly lights me up.

I know that you like to hang out in the past and attach to memories where things haven’t gone my way, or I’ve not felt enough, or the story from that friend about someone you know who “failed".

I know you like to hang out with the stories about why it isn’t a good time to do what I want to do.

I know you like to buddy up with all my limiting beliefs, my conditioning, my old stories about why I am just not the kind of person who will get this success.

I know you like to attach to guilt and remind me I should just be happy and grateful with what I have.

I know you like to hang out with your favourite line of “Show me the evidence. Show me that it will be okay and then we can move forwards.”

I know you feel safer when you default to control and lack of trust.

I know you can always make excuses about why it’s impossible.

I know that you don’t believe it can work or that I might fail and you only want to protect me.

But it’s too much.

I love and value you but I have to make a choice.

I have to make space for something else now.

For soul, for hope, for unlimited opportunities.

Because my soul wants to speak.

Because she notices.

She notices when my stomach drops when I am doing work that does not light me up.

She notices how my light is dimming.

She notices my desire to do good and to make a difference.

She notices my passions and sees how it flicks on a light within me.

She notices the expansiveness in my energy when I play with my dreams about how good this can get.

She notices the power within me to create anything that I want.

She notices how I want to live my life with total freedom to be who I truly am.

She notices how I miss that carefree part of me.

She notices how I light up with freedom.

She notices how I just intuitively know I should follow a new path.

She isn't interested in…

Doing things for others
Following the status quo
Keeping herself small
Dimming her light
Hanging out with fear
Confining herself
Listening to the self-criticism
Honouring doubt and fear
Controlling

My soul is focused on LIGHTING ME UP.

She loves to follow joy, magic and flow.

She honours following feeling and trust and inner guidance over hustle, fear and control.

Ultimately, she just knows.

All that I am here to do and all that I am capable of.

She makes a compelling argument too.
