What to do if you struggle with time...
One of the things I see people struggle with is how to use their time well. How to have balance between their work and business and all the things they’ve got going on in their life.
So often we can get lost in our relationship to time.
I would get fitter if I had more time.
I would do this in my business if I had more time.
I would learn this if I had more time.
Time is a precious commodity.
It matters how we spend it and who we spend it with.
For me I am always mindful that time isn’t a reason I say no to things that I know are a big yes in my body.
In order to do this I follow these principles:
⭐ If it isn’t giving me energy, it has to go
⭐ Nothing out of obligation
⭐ Preparation is key
⭐ It’s not about doing everything but about being consistent with what I do
⭐ It’s about what I prioritise (this year it’s fitness)
This year I’ve opened another business with my kids Dad living in New York. I do all the school runs, take the holidays off and am there for my kids in the evening so managing my time is key.
Below are my key tips for having a better relationship with time:
❤️ Prioritise what is actually important to you (So for me exercise which means I swap tv time for working out)
❤️ Swap habits (social media for learning | doubting yourself for doing one scary thing a day in your business)
❤️ Plan the night before. I get the house sorted, kids lunches etc done before I go to bed
❤️ Discipline - I have clear days for doing certain things and mark out time for each business
❤️ Focus and take breaks. Exercise and connecting in are my go to morning routines because of the way I like to work and the creativity and clarity it brings
❤️ Consistency - over the last 4 months I’ve been consistent. I’ve not tried to do too much, taken breaks where I’ve needed them but I have shown up every day
Hope this helps and remember we make MASSIVE changes through the habits we build each day.
